Tulobhan Reef

In many ways, the Tulobhan Reef dive site exemplifies the best of what Boracay has to offer visitors. Its diverse attractions have turned it into one of the primary diving spots in the Philippines. 
 
Location 
 
The dive area is situated near the Laguna de Boracay diving area. This is along the east coast or backside of the island. You can get to the site by riding a boat. The journey will take no more than half an hour. The trip can be as short as 15 minutes. 
 
What to See
 
The biggest attraction at the Tulobhan Reef dive site are the corals. Corals both soft and hard abound. It is not uncommon for featherstars to be seen swimming along the currents.

Depth / Experience Level Required
 
The minimum depth is only five meters and the maximum depth is 20 meters. The diving area is suitable for beginning divers. The drift is mild. On certain occasions, it can become a drift dive. 
 
Overall, the currents are very mild, very ideal for novices. At the same time it is also recommended for anyone who wants an easy dive. Unlike the more complex dives, you can just focus on enjoying the scene rather than fighting the current. 
 
Cost 
 
The costs of diving in the area are around 25 to 35 USD. This is the average in other Boracay diving destinations too. This fee will cover all the expenses for the gear, weights, transportation and guide. This rate is only for the diving. 
 
Some travel packages include the dive as well as other amenities. These amenities include lodging, breakfast, transportation etc. These dive / tour packages will cost at least 1,000 USD. 
 
Other Info
 
The dive site is also well known for the eels and sea snakes. The black and white striped sea snakes are the most frequently seen. Sea cucumbers are most prevalent on the floor. 
 
Even though the waters are easy to navigate, a guide is still necessary for the new diver, so you know exactly what and what not to do.
