The beaches of Boracay are fabulous, but for something different, try climbing Mt Luho in Boracay. For lovers of outdoor adventures, this is the place to be.
The easiest way to reach the mountain is to ride a tricycle. Tell the driver you want to go to the mountain. Those at White Beach should go to main street. When you reach the Pacific Patio, take the access road to Bulabog Beach.
At the main road, go left. You will eventually end up at the site. The Fairways & Bluewater Resort Golf & Country Club has ATVs for rent. You can use these to get up the mountain. This is the most exciting, but also the most expensive route.
What to See
Climbing the mountain is not that difficult, and the view from the top is splendid. You not only get to see the lovely skies, but also the beaches. From the mountain, the beaches of Yapak is visible.
Even from this distance, the white sands can be seen. The vista at the top provides an unrivaled view of the island. There are observatories in Mt Luho in Boracay. It is a good idea to get a camera and take some pictures.
The mountain is over a hundred meters high, the tallest peak on the island. When the western world discovered Boracay in the 1980s, its beaches became very popular instantly. It took a while for the mountain to become as well known.
But today, it is a favorite destination of hikers and trekkers. As the years have gone by, the wildlife preserve and the observatories were added to the site.
A tricycle ride to the site will cost 250 to 300 pesos. There is also an entrance fee of 50 pesos to the park.
The tricycle fare is high because hardly anyone goes up to the mountain. The journey can also be hard on the vehicle.
Apart from climbing the peak, there is a wildlife reserve. There you can see different types of snakes, birds, monkeys and the famous Philippine Eagle.
The trek up the mountain is not difficult, but you have to be moderately fit. You can also get on a mountain bike. If you are on a mountain bike, the trip to the mountain (from D’Mall) will take half an hour.
At Mt Luho in Boracay, you will see gorgeous views of the Fairways and Bluewater Golf Course. Various residential homes can also be seen from the site.
